At The Beginning With You [Tag:Dimitri]

The large outdoor quad of the high school was bustling with life. It was 12:30 in the afternoon and all the students bustling about-chatting with friends and catching up on last minute homework. One particular girl though who stuck out was sitting under a large tree on the edge of the quad-her back against its trunk and her legs outstretched and crossed at her ankles in front of her-in the center of a large area of grass-the farthest from people she could really be. There were some jocks tossing around a football in front of the young brunette, but she paid them no attention. She was completely engrossed the book she held in one hand-her other hand tentatively lifting the page, ready to turn it. She had a light, blithesome smile on her lips as her light blue eyes moved from line to line excitedly-occasionally a quick, quiet laugh escaping her. She casually chewed on her lip as she let the words she was reading sink and play out in her mind, not noticing at all how the boys seemed to be growing louder and louder.

It was a beautiful day outside. the sky was blue, and the sun was bright, very different from the glomming weather Seattle had on regular days. Still, Dimitri didn't look so alive as his schoolmates. The lonely boy headed outside to thw qud with his hands on the pockets, and a lost gaze, as usual. A year ago, he would be hanging with the popular kids, in his home town, Moscow, but now, he was more fitted into the nerd group. He smirked to himself at the thought, knowing that his old self would despise being with those nerds, so that's why he preffered to stay alone.

He sat on an empt bench, and fished his notebook from his satchel, and turned the pages till he found the math exercises he couldn't find the answer. Ever since he was a boy, math was his favorite matter at school, and being in this stranger land, with no friends, solving those problems kept his mind busy from remembering the reason he had to leave home. He was tapping the pencil on the side page, searching for a way to solve the advanced problem when his eyes landed on a girl. She was sitting by a tree, with a book in her hand, and smiling. He recognized her, they were together in a few classes, but that was all he got. He didn't pay much attention on her, and wasn't planning to, so he turned his gaze back to his own bussiness. However, he got himself looking at her again, she was far from him, but Dimitri could see she was having a nice time, though there was nobody around her. He smirked slightly, and turned his face away from her again.

Bella had made quite a bit of progress on her book since the start of lunch-she had always been a fast reader-when suddenly she brought her book quickly down to her lap and she looked out with wide eyes. She had just remembered that she was supposed to go meet with her English teacher, and lunch was almost over. She quickly shoved her bookmark into her book, and then put her closed book into her bag before pushing her self off the ground-grabbing her bag by the strap. She began walking very fast, as she was adjusting her bag onto her shoulder-leading her to not see a backpack that was just lying in the middle of the walkway, and to trip over it and fall onto her side on the ground. "Of-" she grunted softly as she fell. As she paused on the ground-before getting up-she imagined everyone's eyes on her, and her face warmed as she looked down at the ground and started to get herself up.

Dimitri looked briefly at his watch, and as much he was enjoying be by himself, the Math class was going to start soon, and he didn't want to get late. So, he pulled his things back to his backpack, and put it over his shoulder as he walked back to the school building, not paying attention to the people around him like he did before. However, he saw someone tripping by his side, and by instinct, he leaned over the girl, to help her getting up. ''Are you alright?'', he asked with a light accent as he wrapped his hands gently around her arms. When he saw her face, he widened his eyes for a brief moment, recognizing the girl he saw by the tree, lost on her own world.

Bella looked up quickly, with slightly horrified eyes, when she heard the voice that came from beside her, and then upon seeing the young man she quickly looked back down as she let him help her up-albeit, a bit reluctantly. "I'm fine," she answered in a slight mumble as she stood back up-dusting off her pants a bit. "I'm embarrassed, but I'm fine," she added softly, with a quick, quiet laugh-pushing some loose hair back behind her ear as she re-adjusted her bag on her shoulder. "Thanks," she then said genuinely, finally turning her face up a bit to peer up at the boy through her lashes-a small shy smile on her lips. Her face had cooled a bit since her fall, but her stomach was still feeling a bit tight, and she casually brought her arms up to cross in front of her-holding onto her bag's strap with one hand. She had completely forgotten about her meeting with her teacher by this point.

Dimitri helped her picking up all the books. He couldn't help but noticing there were some few titles they were reading, besides all the school books. He smiled as she talked she was fine, and at this point no one seemed to notice she had fallen a few moments ago. He looked at her with a shy smile, ''You're welcome'', he said softly. ''I think you forgot this one'', he pointed out, handing her the book she was reading beneath the tree. ''Do you mind if I follow you on your next class... I mean, we are together... On the same class, I meant'', he chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his nape with one hand, feeling slight embaressed.
