Reconnecting (Tag: Phillip)

Jasmine stared into the books as her hand wrote down notes to keep in mind later. She studied in her normal 'study' place, in a small cafe near the university. She'd usually migrate towards the far corner, staying away from the social scene while in her studies. Friends would usually come by, just to wave to her or even study a bit with her, but they stayed away most of the time. It felt nice having piece and quiet, even nicer when she put in her headphones to listen to her favorite tunes from this time.

It amazed Jasmine how well she adapted to this new world so quickly, especially being thrust into the University life. All those years of training herself in the arts paid off when it came to her studies. She'd write down the important facts while in the cafe but back at her apartment, she'd memorized them in a different symbolic way. However, she felt her mind drift off to other places now. Ever since she met Philip in History.

Several of times, Jasmine found herself just mindlessly doodling swirls on her paper, absently thinking about him. She dreamed of his incredible but soft blue irises, dancing around her mind in an airy waltz. Whenever she thought about the way he smiled at her, chuckled at her, she found herself nearly mimicking back, only in small girlish giggles. His voice echoed in her ears pleasantly, Jasmine herself yearning to hear him talk. But, she tried to push all those thoughts, feelings, back behind her, not wanting to think about men in between her goals. Her attempts were futile as she was once more doodling flowers all over the sides of her notes.

Philip moseyed on, casually cheerful, into the small cafe-his book bag slung over one shoulder. He had the afternoon off from his job, and a class in a couple hours, so he thought he'd kill his free time in this little shop. He had no sooner entered the establishment-looking around the large room with a blithe grin-that he saw a, very welcome, familiar face.

After making eye contact with the barista at the counter, and giving her a knowing nod and wink, Philip made his over-with a sly smirk-smoothly grabbed a chair and slid in to sit next to Jasmine. As he sat down, he noticed the earphones in her ears, and-leaning over on the table on one of his arms, so that his classmate would see him-he reached up and gently pulled the closest bud from her ear. "What a small world it is huh?" he greeted her in a low voice, meeting her gaze quickly-and briefly-before watching-and smiling-as he set her earphone down on the table.

Jasmine didn't pay any mind to the new coming shadow that came into her view. She only assumed that it was one of her friends trying to make contact and they'd go away eventually if she looked concentrated in this abnormally well doodle on her notes. However, as she felt her ear bud being pulled out from someone else for the first time and that voice that lingered freely in her mind, she gasped in surprise. Her brown eyes quickly looked into his blues and she found herself already scowling at him. She quickly flipped the doodled page to a blank one before placing her arms on top of it.

"Too small apparently." Jasmine huffs, placing her hand on her chin. Even though on the surface she seemed irritated with him, a part of her sinfully jumped at seeing him once more. She didn't know what it was, but she couldn't help but feel magnetized towards him. Surprisingly, she wanted to know more about him, his personality, his quirks, his weird habits, his past, so she played along. "Are you always this charming with every girl you have a two second conversation with?"

Philip had to laugh at Jasmine's reaction to his appearance beside her, mirroring her as he crossed his arms on the table in front of him-his elbow just barely not touching hers, and his head turned to the side as he kept his light and innocent eyes on her face. He had a playful smirk pull up at his lips as she huffed and sulked-holding himself back from laughing more, and an even broader smile. "I try," he answered her simply with a shrug. "So…..You think I'm charming?" he asked cheekily, no longer able to keep his smile from growing broader across his face-resting his chin in his hand as he leaned just slightly in towards her, his soft gaze still glued on her face. She was really quite adorable with that child-like irritation clear on her face, and in her body posture. She just kept increasing Philip's curiosity about her, and drawing him toward her-like a moth to a flame.

Jasmine rolled her eyes, shaking her head at him. She looked over at his cheeky smile and tried to scowl at it but couldn't find herself to. "Sadly... You are quite charming but that doesn't work on all girls, Prince Charming." She tells him, giving him a bit of a playful scowl than a serious one. "Now if you excuse me... Some of us actually have some studying to do.."

Philip had to hold back even more laughter as Jasmine scowled at him-so much so his cheeks were starting hurt a bit from his enlivened smile. "Well you can only do what you can do," he said with a shrug, and a playfully saddened sigh. He straightened up then-sitting up in his chair and bringing his arms down-as she continued-looking over at her with innocently curious eyes. A small smile did quickly come back to his lips though, and his eyes turned to quietly smolder as he looked over at Jasmine. "Oh of course. By all means," he said in a lightly apologetic tone, raising his hands in surrender. "I'll just go over there," he informed her in a friendly tone, as he pointed over to another table-still close to her.

Philip gracefully moved out of his chair and around it to push it in before he placed a hand on his chest and gave Jasmine a slight bow-his smile broadening over his face. "It was a pleasure seeing you again," he said genuinely, his eyes bright as he looked up to Jasmine. "Jasmine," he added in-a small smirk now playing on his lips-before he quickly turned and took a seat at another table.

Philip pulled out his books and a pen, but before he got started, he got up and went over to the front counter to order a drink. He flirted with the barista a bit, paid, and got his drink, and-after a wink to the barista-he started back over to his table. He walked slower as he went by Jasmine, looking over at her over the rim of his drink as he took a sip, and then quickened his pace for a couple more steps and sat back down at his table.

Jasmine couldn't help but smile at his, rolling her eyes a bit. She arched a brow at him being over-dramatic before waving him off as he went. She looked back up at him through her eyelashes and rolled her eyes even more at him bowing. But, she couldn't help but bite down a smile as she heard her name from his lips. She shook her head quickly, not wanting to think like that.

Jasmine looked back down at her books, trying to distract herself from thinking about him. However, she couldn't help it when her eyes moved upwards, watching him from the other table. She found herself forcefully stopping herself and look down at the book instead. After much fighting, she finally gave into her feelings. She looked back up fully now, smiling at him from the other table.

Forming an idea, she looked down at her notebook, flipping through the pages. She pulled out a blank one and started to make shift of it. She remembered her peers calling it a 'paper airplane'. Once she was finished, she looked back up, biting the bottom of her lip before throwing it softly. She giggled once it hit the side of his head and quickly looked down, pretending she didn't do anything.
