Patience (Tag Marina)

Marina nodded softly, ''Yes'', she smiled and got up, the hostess helped her with the coat and he wrapped her arm around his as they walked out, ''Where are we going now? Do you think the lights are back on at the loft?'', she asked quietly. With the loft all dark it would be difficult to walk around the sharped furniture.

John ran a hand through his hair and smiled softly. He got up and hooked their arms before chuckling. "The lights will be on. If they're not, someone is getting fired," he smirked and walked with her to the car.

When they got back to the loft, the lights were on, as promised. He sighed in relief. He kept the lights dim, however. He never had liked brightly lit places. "So..." He started as he took off his suit jacket and helped her from her coat. He went over to the radio and started it to play a slow song. He then bowed to her and held out his hand. "Can I have this dance?" He questioned.

''Shs, don't be so harsh, baby'', she murmured and kissed his cheek before getting into the car. She sighed softly when they got back, and everything was back to normal. She could help but smile when she saw him taking his jacket, and when he helped with her coat. Her heart skipped a beat when he bowed and held his hand to her. ''Yes'', she bowed slightly with a small giggle and held his hand as she placed her other hand upon his shoulder.

John chuckled softly and smiled as he pulled her close, resting his hand respectfully on her waist and the other hold her hand gently. He moved with the music like it was second nature to him. "...We dance in Nirethia, didn't we?" He asked quietly. "It feels... familiar," He murmured.

''Yes, we did'', she murmured softly near his ear. ''We worked at the council, and we were close to the royal family. You were always my escort at the royal balls and you always saved the last dance to me'', she whispered with a small smile. He didn't need to know how much of a disaster was the last ball they attended.

John listened with a small smile, his eyes closed he tried to imagine it before. But, of course nothing came to him. He held her closer and kissed the side of her head as he moved with her. "I love you," He murmured near her ear.

Marina leaned closer to him and closed his eyes as he said those three words. SHe leaned her head upon his and whispered softly ''I love you more''. She moved with him slowly and smiled when she focused on the feeling of his arm around her waist, and how they hands felt together when they held them like that.

John hummed softly with the music before sighing as it ended. He turned her chin and leaned their foreheads together. He smiled before placing a kiss against her lips. He looked at the clock and arched a brow. He hadn't realized it was so late. "Are you tired...?" He asked softly.

Marina opened her eyes when she heard him hummed, she loved his voice, and always watched him while he sang to put the boys to sleep. She locked her eyes with his and smiled as they kissed... She sighed and leaned her head upon his shoulder again... ''Maybe... I had a long day... But I'm not giving up with my plan to watch the sun rising with you'', she hummed and kissed his neck softly.

John chuckled softly and shook his head. "Marina... Sunrise is at least four hours away from now... You think you'll last that long?" He questioned, knowing she wasn't one to stay up late. He lifted her up and carried her over to the bed that faced the large wall of windows that looked out over Seattle. He sat on he middle of the bed and held her close.

''I can try'', she pouted cutely and wrapped her arms around his neck again. She hummed in content when he sat them on the bed, and snuggled closer to him, her head rested upon his chest so she could hear his heartbeatings... Hearing his strong heart beating was her favorite lullaby, she did tried to stay up, but she dozed a few time before she finally fell asleep upon his arms.

John watched her fall asleep, knowing full and well she wouldn't stay up. He gently laid her onto the bed when she did fall asleep and smiled, laying beside her on his side to watch her. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He opened it up and took the ring out of it. He then very carefully and slowly slid the ring onto her ring finger. He put the box away and settled into the bed, pulling the covers over the both of them as he fell asleep, too.

Marina slept thoughtout the whole night, and woke up on the next morning feeling brand new. She didn't notice the ring upon her finger at first, but she she saw that John was still asleep... She laid by his side and watched him, since it was rare the occasions where she woke up first than him.


When she did noticed the ring, she frowned, and not realized at first what that really meant... but when she did. ''Yes!'', she chimed softly, and leaned to kiss his lips tenderly. ''I would love to be your wife'', she whispered, and curled closer to him.

John was a light sleeper. So, when he felt even the slightest movement from her, he was awake. He waited patiently for her realize what was on her finger and smirked when he heard her gasp. He leaned into her kiss and wrapped his arms around her as she curled up to him. He kissed her forehead and sighed in content. "I love you," he whispered into her ear. "I'm sorry it took me so long to ask you..."

Marina grinned exuberantly when he wrapped his arms around her... ''I love you more'', she whispered, and moved to rest her finger upon his lips, ''You don't need to apologize, baby... I loved the surprise'', she smirked, ''I want to be with you like this forever'', she murmured softly cupping his cheeks with her hands she kissed his lips softly. She locked her eyes with his while leaning back. ''I love you'', she repeated with a smile.

John smiled softly and leaned into her kisses. "I'm glad you liked it," He mumbled. He sat up and kissed her again, pulling her close and running one hand up along her spine. "I love you," He repeated to her.
